Reviewer has read 5 e-books. The first e-book

McPheat and he published this book in 2012 on bookboon.com. The second book

theory to practice, the author of the book is Jack C. Richards and he published
this book in 2008, this book published by Cambridge University Press in first
published. And the last book talks about Overcome Your Fear of Public Speaking and Performing, the author of the
book is Janet E. Esposito,
M.S.W and he published this book in 2000. However, from those books, the
reviewer is interested in the first book which is about effective communication
skills.
Sean
McPheat in 2012 said that inquire an effective communication needs practice and
learn more about it. The effective communication depends on the richness of
those ideas. Meanwhile, in other book that the author is Arina Nikita in 2011 said
that success of speaking depends on preparation, practice and performance. So, based on the theory of the author becomes
success and effective in communication, practice and preparation are also
needed. If we have learned and practiced before we speaking in front of other
people we will be more successful and confident. Besides, the important thing
to make effective in communication is vocabulary. It makes more efficient if we
have much vocabulary. Communication called effective if we can speak fluently.
Meanwhile, to be fluently we need lesson to make easy to practice. There are
ten lessons can help us such as we can say
clearly so people easy to understand
what we say, English at work, building vocabulary, English Under the Hood phrasal verb,
real English, Bring
it All Together, Listen Up!,
Why Do They Do That? Which
written by Barbara Raifsnider. If we communicate with other people fluently, we
can have an effective communication. When we communicate effectively we can be
success in public speaking. By giving the lesson such as grammatical
structure, pronunciation, vocabulary, exercises, many examples of dialogue in
many situations can improve the students speaking ability. Reviewer thinks this
book very useful for students especially for learner of English lesson.
Reviewer really agrees with the lesson in this course because it is very useful
for student to improve their speaking ability. This step can help to improve
speaking ability easily. Reviewer suggest for teacher to use each steps in
their speaking class because according to me, the steps are affective ways. If
you want to know more about what you say, you will not worry about communicating
in public which is explained by Janet
E. Esposito, M.S.W, her book that was published in 2008. While, success in
speaking is a priority of many second languages or foreign languages learners
said by Jack C Ricards in 2008. So, success English is priority all of people
in the world. This method is good to apply for student because it makes student
like native speaker.
If you want your communication
to be successful, the processes should be done. They are sources, messages, encoding, channel, decoding,
receiver, feedback, and context said Sean McPheat in 2012. However, the other
author said processes of communication consists of invention, arrangement,
style, memory, and delivery. It’s said by Cicero in Arina Nikita in 2011. It
has same goal but just different in mentioning, without the processes above
communication cannot happen. This process can help student easy to know how the
process happen. If the process happen is good so the fear in communication will
be lost. If someone able to do a
good job in public speaking without miscommunication so they will more confident in public
speaking. It says by Janet E.
Esposito, M.S.W in 2000.
The teachers must be taught for the student, so that the miss communication
will not happen. Reviewer think it can give positive impact for student in the
future, because they can more confident in speaking in font of class
Furthermore, to have an effective in
communication, we must know how the styles of communication because style
communication can help other understand about what we say. Sean Mcpheat said
that there are four kinds of communications such as direct communication style,
spirited communication style, systematic communication style, and systemic
communication style. From those styles of communication, we can see the
differences of each of them, and the used depends on our desire. Likewise, Arina Nikita in 2011, communication
have three kinds of styles such as impromptu
speech, manuscript speech and extemporaneous speech. If you want to become a
great public speaker you must learn each one of them, so you will be more
confident and acquire effective speaking in front of listeners at any situations.
While, the other author concludes that the communication styles reflects the
roles, age, and status of participants in interaction and also reflects the
expression of politeness. This method is good but reviewer think not all
methods can we use, because each people do not have same personality. So, you
should think again about the ideas that is suitable or not for your audience
based on methods. But reviewer thinks this book still good to improve our
speaking ability. Based on all of the theories
reviewer concludes that communication style is appropriate in my kinds of circumstances.
From all of the e-book, it
can be conclude that effective communication should be thought completely and
clearly to the student because it skill very important for them. So the good
speaker can effective in communication. Methods
taught in this e-book really lead to success in communicating and
communications that can be used in accordance with the capabilities that we
have. Then, they can feel comfortable to speak
in front of other people because it has the key point to be a good teacher.
The use methods and lesson like English at work, real communication can help
them to speak easily and fluently.
